ECS
From WickedSim
The Adult ECS is the low end high fidelity human patient simulator available from METI. Some of its features include:
- Adult male of average build.
- Three pupil sizes that must be manually set.
- Ability to ooze liquid from the eyes, ears, nose, and mouth with TDCK.
- Built-in speaker in the head (most users find this tinny and inadequate).
- Various airway obstructions can be controlled by software.
- Anatomically correct airway can be intubated.
- Bag lungs as opposed to the HPS mechanical lung.
- Right arm can be used for IV and IM.
- Left arm can be used to find BP.
- Pedal, femoral, radial, brachial and carotid pulse points.
- Chest can be needle decompressed.
- Limited range of motion in limbs and trunk. (Trunk bends about 30 degrees.)
- Can be catheterized.
- 'Umbilical cord' leaving lower back is used to transmit fluids and electrical signals from a black box system. The cord is approximately 5-6 feet and doesn't bend very well.
- The black box is about 1x2x3 feet.
- Fluids are provided externally. Compressed air at 50 psi is provided externally.
I'm sure I've left something out. Feel free to add to this list and add your impressions.
